How to get to Pamplona?

Pamplona it is located in the north of Spain; it is connected by plane with Madrid and Barcelona and by train/bus with these and others cities.
- Pamplona airport is located 6 Km from the city centre. The only way to go from Pamplona airport to the city is by taxi. They are waiting outside the main entrance of the airport and the trip costs about 15 €.
- The train station is located in the west of the city; urban buses and taxis are in the main entrance.
- The bus station is located in the very centre of the city.
Several European cities have several flights/day to Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, and Biarritz (France). Here you have some tips to organize your trip from these cities to Pamplona.
From Madrid (390 km):
Flights to Pamplona leave from Madrid’s main international airport, Barajas. There are daily flights, the number depending on the season. The flight is only 45 min but can be expensive. The plane companies are Iberia and Air Nostrum.
Trains to Pamplona depart from the Puerta de Atocha station. The ride from Barajas Airport to Atocha is about 30 minutes and costs about €25 by Taxi. You can also go by tube. Trains leave from Madrid to Pamplona about 7 times a day and take 3 h. The train company is Renfe.
Madrid and Pamplona are also connected by bus. Buses depart from the bus station in Avenida de América but also from Madrid airport. The journey takes about 5 hours (or longer depending on the intermediate stops) and it can include a connection in Soria. The bus companies are Alsa and PLM Autocares.
From Barcelona (490 km)
Flights to Pamplona leave from Barcelona’s main international airport, El Prat. The number of flights from Barcelona depends on the season (not all seasons are covered). The flight is only 1 hour and but can be expensive. The plane companies are Iberia or Air Nostrum.
Trains leave from Estació Sants. Trains run from Barcelona Airport to the Estació Sants every 30 minutes. There are also bus shuttles from the airport to the train stations. Trains leave from Barcelona to Pamplona about 7 times a day and take 4- 4,5 h (depending on the intermediate stops). The train company is Renfe.
The Barcelona bus stations are called Estación de Autobuses, Barcelona Nord and Estació Sants (Sants bus station is on the same site as the train station). The trip is roughly 6 hours. The bus companies are Vibasa and Alsa.
From Bilbao (160 km):
There are about 7 daily buses from Bilbao, leaving from the Bilbao bus station. There are bus shuttles from the airport to the bus station. The trip takes about 2 hours and it is cheap. The bus company is La Burundesa.
BY CAR: Renting a car in Bilbao is also an option.
From Biarritz (105 km):
There are daily buses from the airport of Biarritz to Pamplona via San Sebastian (with a a transfer to another bus there). The trip altogether is about 2,5-5 h. The bus companies are Conda and Alsa.

How to get to the venue?
The University of Navarra is easily accessible by public transport.
